A graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in accounting, Richard Brener practiced for two years with the "Big Eight" accounting and auditing firm of Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). He then went to law school at the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law.
As a newly minted attorney working for the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Richard found himself flying off to the port of Valdez, Alaska, to work on the litigation and governmental investigations that came out of the massive oil spill of the Exxon Valdez.
Since then Richard has worked at large international firms like White & Case and Kirkpatrick & Lockhart (now KL Gates), and well known Florida boutique firms like Bienstock & Clark. In that time, he has represented clients like the large technology company Computer Associates, well known entertainment company Twentieth Century Fox and even nations like the Republic of Colombia. However, in such a large firm atmosphere there is rarely the satisfaction of helping real people with legal issues that are as important to them as the cleanup of a major oil spill was to the company running the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
So Richard Brener left big firm life in order to bring the experience and skill he acquired to help individuals and small businesses find practical solutions to their legal problems. Plus now he also has more time to spend with his beautiful wife, five children, one son-in-law, and the family dog.
Richard Brener has worked at large law and accounting firms and corporations, but he also has experience at small start-up companies and not-for-profit organizations. Thus he has the skill and experience that comes from a big firm background coupled with the instinct for efficiency and practicality of an entrepreneur. Here is a list of the places Mr. Brener has worked:
